Kappa Delta's social calendar is always packed with socials and date functions. We love to get together with fraternities, sororities and other campus organizations to enjoy some of the social spots in Tallahassee. Some of our favorite themes from socials last year are White Trash Bash, 80s, and Army and Navy. We also have annual socials that have become a tradition at Kappa Delta, such as Mullets on Wheels with the gentlemen of Sigma Chi. Whether we are tailgating before a football game, sharing a Happy Hour, or dressing up for a themed social, our sisters are sure to be having a classy good time! Every fall, we host Flamingo Flock and Semi-Formal, and in the spring we host Cast Away KD and White Rose Formal date functions. Flamingo Flock is a day full of pink! Girls and thier dates dress in pink while they enjoy a night filled with a campfire and an oldies band.
This year, Semi-Formal was themed Caddy Shack, and everyone came dressed in their country club attire, wearing anything from sun dresses to straw hats. Cast Away KD is a tropical theme, where bright sun dresses, Hawaiian leis, and Jimmy Buffet music are just a few of the elements of this fun night. Our White Rose Formal this year was a weekend-long event. Friday night was a Kentucky Derby theme and took place at the historic, southern Brokaw-McDougall mansion in Tallahassee. Catered hors d oeurves, dancing with a live band, classic big-brimmed hats, and candlelit picnic spreads were some of the highlights of the evening. Saturday night was the Grande Derby Gala held at Paradigm in downtown Tallahassee. Sisters and their dates danced the night away in their formal dresses, sisterhood awards were given, and a slideshow of pictures from the year s memories played throughout the night.
